Serious Symptoms
Many of us experience a variety of symptoms on a day to day basis but hardly notice. This is because some symptoms are very general. Fatigue can be caused by a day of hard work, so many of us will look over it as a symptom of a medical condition. Other symptoms, such as a cough, or a headache, can also come and go, without any help of medicines. It is the serious symptoms we need to look out for, and report immediately to our doctors. Although there is a variety of conditions that all share similar symptoms, some are signs for serious trouble.
Your stool can say a lot about your health, and also gives you insight into any trouble that might be happening. Certain conditions can cause your stool to appear light in color, others dark. If you notice any sudden and consistent visible changes in your stool, speak with your doctor about them, along with any other symptoms you might be experiencing. Bloody stool is a serious symptom that can have many different causes. Bleeding inside the intestine, swollen veins, hemorrhoids, and colon cancer are just a few of the conditions that have bloody stool as a symptom. Black stool also means there is bleeding somewhere in the intestine.
Many of us experience a cough when we are sick. From the common cold, to lung cancer, this is a symptom that is often suffered. Often times we just cough up mucous, other times it is a dry cough. However, if you are coughing up blood, you need to see a doctor immediately. Again, this can be caused by one of many medical conditions, most of which are extremely dangerous. It is common for TB symptoms to include blood stained coughs. Tuberculosis is a lethal medical condition, with an untreated mortality rate of fifty percent. Although the majority of cases are often found in Asian and African countries, there are still rare cases in the United States. It is highly contagious, spreading by air via a cough or sneeze.
Dull pain that increases and migrates from behind the naval to around the hip area should also be reported immediately. This is the early stages of appendicitis, and if left untreated, can also cause death. Abdominal pain is common, even in cases of mere indigestion, but where the pain is located is what you should be conscious of. Admittance to the Emergency Room is recommended.
