Allergy Relief

Allergies affect millions of people around the world. From food allergies, to pet dander allergies, to dust allergies, there are many different kinds. Some of these reactions are mild, some are specific to the time of year, and some are life threatening. Regardless, allergies are an annoyance for everyone who has them. Unlike those without allergies, you must be careful of what you eat, where you go, and what is in the environment. This is exhausting, which is why many people seek allergy relief. There are many different ways to alleviate the affects of allergies, and depending on the cause, the treatment will vary.

Antihistamine medications are the most popular, and most relied upon form of treatment on the market. These types of medications also treat hay fever, which stems from similar causes as allergies. Fexofenadine, for example, helps treat many different kinds of allergies. Seasonal allergies, such as those caused by pollen, or other out door factors, can be easily treated with this kind of medication. Many of these medications also cause drowsiness, but some are more extreme than others. Depending on how often you’ll rely on the treatment, you may need to check the side affects before choosing one. Headaches, dizziness, and nausea are not uncommon when dealing with Antihistamines.

Other treatment can be found in the form of nasal spray. This helps open up the sinuses that may be congested from allergies. Some other treatment options can be found through your doctor. Knowing which form of treatment is right for you will depend on your medical condition and the severity of the allergic reactions.

How do you know if you have an allergy? Some may confuse simple irritation with an allergic reaction. Kicking up dust into the air, resulting in a sneeze, does not count as an allergic reaction. Allergies have intense symptoms, such as congestion, sinus pressure, headaches or migraines, raw throat, cough, watery eyes, and other conditions. Medications like Fexofenadine help you find relief from these symptoms, while keeping you from feeling drowsy.

Food allergies should not be taken likely. Lethal allergies to items such as shellfish and peanuts are rare but dangerous. These allergies can cause the throat to swell, restricting breathing, and can cause death without immediate treatment. There are no cures for allergies, but treatment can help alleviate the inconvenient symptoms. Those with allergies such as that to bee stings often carry around an emergency kit in the event of a sting.
